Constantine “Dino” Pericles Konstas, born January 13, 1937 in Palaiopanagia, Greece, left us peacefully on November 3, 2023 at his residence following a short battle with cancer. Dino is survived by his daughter Christina, son Pericles (Jamie), grandchildren Arianna and Jonah, brothers Panos (Karen), George (Achlaia), and sister Panagiota Kapakos (George). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Kristina, Anastasia (Michael), Amalia, Penelope, Konstantinos (Nancy), Artemis (Jason), Pericles, Christophile (Richard), and Andrianne (Reid).
Dino moved to the United States from Greece in 1956 and before settling in Northern Virginia in 1977 lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois. Dino found an opportunity to employ his personable demeanor and sense of hospitality in the restaurant business. He owned and operated Keynote Restaurant in Chicago, Illinois, Nino’s Restaurant in Washington, DC, and Cafe Nino’s in Front Royal, Virginia.
Later in life, Dino rediscovered a joy of gardening rooted in his youth helping his family work the family lands and trees in Greece. He spent endless hours tending to his garden growing thousands of tomatoes, okra, green beans, peppers, squash, herbs, and sunflowers, which he happily shared with all.
Dino will be remembered as a generous and caring man, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and friend to everyone he met.
