Dale Gordon Bagby

Dale Gordon Bagby, 80, known to his family and friends as Gordon, passed away unexpectedly in Falls Church, VA, on April 10, 2022 of blood loss due to epistaxis.

Gordon was born February 10, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the third child of Merle and Scott Bagby.  Siblings Walter Bagby of Grand Rapids, MI; Joan Bagby Cleaveland of Rochester, MI; and Marylaine Bagby Block of Greensboro, NC, preceded him in death.  Gordon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Felicia Rodriguez Bagby of Falls Church, VA.

Gordon graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in Grand Rapids in 1960.  He continued his education at the University of Illinois in Urbana, graduating as a co-salutatorian in 1964 with a BFA in city planning.  He went on to get a MS degree in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1966 and a PhD in urban planning from Harvard University in 1969.

He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Construction Engineering Research Laboratory in Champaign, IL.  He left to work as a Task Manager for artificial intelligence at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA; a Transportation Advisory Commissioner for the city of Pasadena; a Planner for the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission, and finally a Management and Program Analyst at the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C.

An interment service is being planned for July 2 at Riverside Cemetery in Brook, IN.
