Dawna J. Lott, aged 79, passed away on February 28th, 2022, in Bristow, Va., following a lengthy illness. A generous, caring, lover-of the arts, Dawna enjoyed theater, literature, films, and music. An avid traveler and adventurer, she spent the last two decades exploring the world with her beloved husband Tom. As a mindful person she practiced yoga and meditation and constantly worked to improve herself. Dawna was pretty, funny, and smart; she was a giving, dependable friend and a loyal wife and mother.
After spending most of her professional career in the administrative arena, including managerial stints at Florida-based corporations Pillsbury and Wackenhut Security, Dawna discovered her artistic gifts later in life, developing into a talented painter, published novelist, and prize-winning poet. Her dedication to her work was inspiring and her joy for life was present in every deed and expression.
A strong believer in the bonds of family, Dawna was devoted to her children and siblings. She is survived by her loving husband Thomas Lott, son Richard Foster, daughter Kimberly Bernard, sisters Rosemary Cavnar and Joy Sharp, and brothers Anthony, Greg and Quincy Jr. Dawna cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren Blake Bernard and Brigham Bernard. Dawna also loved and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements will be made by Everly Funeral Home, 6161 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, Va.
