Gary Wayne Clem, aged 68, who was a longtime resident of Arlington, Virginia, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at INOVA Alexandria Hospital.  Gary was born on August 11, 1949 to Donald Wayne Clem and Ann Wilson Ashwood.  He grew up in Annandale, Virginia where he graduated from Annandale High School in 1967.   He took technical training after high school and graduated from the Computer Operations Program at the Computer Learning Center, and spent many years working for businesses such as Bendix and Development Associates as a Technical Writer and Proposal Specialist., and for Arlington County as an admin assistant.  

He met the love of his life, Jill Hunter Clem, in 1983; and they married on April 12, 1986.  He was a devoted father and spent his days taking care of his special needs son Christopher Daniel, who is 27 years old. 

Gary was a devoted Christian who studied the Bible and honored the Lord Jesus with his life. He enjoyed watching the Washington Nationals and Washington Redskins. Other interests included listening to music and site-seeing in Harpers Ferry and the Snow White Grill in Winchester where his father was once a short order cook.

He is survived by his wife and son, as well as his siblings Tammie Clem Higgs, Randall Kemp, Michelle Kemp Alex, Sharon Kemp Webster, Thomas Kemp, Wayne Fuller, and Linda Fouch.  He was preceded in death by his sister Rebecca Clem Kilby.

The Viewing is March 8th from 5-9 pm; and funeral March 9th at 2pm at Everly Funeral Home, 6161 Leesburg Pike,  Falls Church, VA 22044

Internment is April 12, 2018, 12:45 pm at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd, Arlington VA 22201.
