Hunter Lee Needham

Hunter Lee Needham, 79, of Mt. Jackson, Virginia passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019 in Arlington, Virginia with his wife and best friend, Ana Needham, by his side. Hunter was born in Washington, D.C. on February 22, 1940, the son of Troy and Hilda (Darne) Needham, and grew up in McLean, Virginia. He was predeceased by both of his parents and his loving wife of 15 years, Carol Needham, who passed away in 2002. He leaves behind to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 14 years Ana; his sister Nancy and her husband Richard; brother Tom and wife Linda; daughter Janet; son Dan and his wife B.A., two granddaughters Katie (John) and Molly (Jacob); and many loving step children and step grandchildren.

Hunter loved spending time with Ana and their dog Mooky, eating ice cream, and being outside. He was a true outdoorsman. When he was younger he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and later traveled the country to  compete in trap shooting competitions. In his early years he worked as a D.C. firefighter, and also volunteered at McLean and Vienna fire departments. When not at the fire department he could often be found on a tractor or bulldozer. Hunter later spent many years working for Phoenix Development and Loudon Composting. He will be missed by many.

Family will welcome friends and loved ones at the Everly Funeral Home & Cremation Service located at 6161 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22044 on Saturday August 10, 2019. A viewing/visitation will be held from 4-6:00pm, and the service will begin at 6:00pm.
