Tribute

Mildred Ann Nixon Ringenberg, called Millie by her friends, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 7th in her home in Falls Church, Virginia, surrounded by her loving family.

Millie was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Allen and Helen Nixon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Captain George Ringenberg, whom she married in 1975 and by her grandson Corin.

Millie raised three children in Huntington Station, New York. Dedicated to her kids, she was a proud member of the PTA, a cub scouts den mother and a gymnastics and theatre dance Mom. She also cherished and cared for many family pets. She loved swimming, walks in nature and gardening. In their years together, Millie and George enjoyed traveling overseas, gathering with friends and dancing.

Millie had a lifelong interest in healthy foods and natural healing. Her curiosity about alternatives to mainstream religions led her to a fascination with angels and a passion for astrology. She also encouraged her children and extended family to find their own spiritual paths.

Millie is survived by her three children from her first marriage to Charles Rowe: Christopher Rowe, Timothy Rowe and Darby Rowe Bartlett; their spouses Annie, Suzanna and Tom; her grand -children Caleb and his spouse Julie, Emma, Isabelle, Erica, Skyler, Abbey, Nick and spouse Heather, Nicole and spouse Charles; great grand-children Corin, Mia, Kai, Dominic, Mae, Charles Jr.; step-daughter Susan Ringenberg Cunha and step grand-children Hillary, Elizabeth (Whitney) and Christopher; her loving, long-time caretaker Josie, and her sweet cat Angel.
