Rene Alzona, of Springfield, Virginia, passed away peacefully into God’s arms on Monday, October 16, 2017.

Born on May 17, 1933 in Manila, Philippines, he was the son of the late Godofredo Yatco Alzona and Clemencia Villizon Alzona.

Rene worked as an elementary school teacher with the Manila Public School, as fire fighter and a Fire fighter Instructor with the Manila Fire Department Training School, as a Fire Captain with ARAMCO, Saudi Arabia, and special needs school bus attendant with Fairfax County Public School.

He is survived by his wife, Francesca Triminio Alzona; his three daughters, Reziah M. Alzona, Rosselle C. Alzona and Gina Alzona Parducho (Alan); his grandchildren Maureen, Rene (enz), Kim, Karla, Yhana and Rucel; great grandson Sebastian; and his siblings Rosalinda Alzona Pangilinan, Rebecca Alzona Ramos (Rylhelm), and Crispulo Alzona (Melinda). Also survived by many loving family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Ariel and Raul Alzona.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10:30AM
St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3305 Glen Carlyn Road, Falls Church, VA 22041.

Interment will occur at a later date in a private ceremony at the Peace Garden, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
