Rosa Hongpanich

September 4, 1944 ~ October 24, 2023 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

Dear friends and loved ones, today we are here to honor the life of an exceptional woman, our beloved Rosa. She was affectionately known as Rosita. She was the soul of every gathering and the heart of our family.

Rosa Hongpanich, 79, passed away on October 24, 2023, surrounded by her family. Rosita, as she was affectionately known, was born in Tiraque, Bolivia on September 4, 1944, to Jose F. Acha and Casilda Espinosa. Growing up in Bolivia she loved to crochet and draw. She enjoyed school and was an excellent student.   This led her to become a very caring and loving elementary school teacher.

For Paul, her husband for 48 years, Rosa was much more than a wife; she was his beacon and his strength. They met in a land far from their original homes, he from Thailand and she from Bolivia. But here, in Virginia, Arlington, they found a home where they cultivated lasting loving marriage and community.

Our Rosita had a special knack for turning the ordinary into extraordinary. When she entered a room, she did so with the determination of a cleaning whirlwind, but also with the warmth of a loving mother. She will be remembered as living life to the fullest. She enjoyed so many different activities, traveling, gardening, dancing, sharing meals, and entertaining.

And she sure knew how to celebrate. She never needed much to create a party; her joy for life was enough. You could say that Rosa danced through life, always ready for a kitchen dance or a contagious laugh at a family gathering. Spending time with family and friends brought her the greatest joy and pleasure. Her energetic and loving personality created memories to cherish for a lifetime. She always made time for family and friends. Opening her home and having meals ready to be eaten.

But what truly defined Rosita was her boundless generosity. Not just in material gifts, which were always meaningful, but in the richness of her spirit. She made each person feel like they were the most special in the world, because to her, they were.

It's a tragedy that Rosita left us so suddenly, right after her thrilling trip to Egypt. But, instead of focusing on how she left, let's celebrate how she lived: fully, generously, and with an unwavering love for all of us.

So, as we say goodbye to our cherished Rosita, we do so with a mix of sadness and gratitude. We are thankful for every moment we shared with her and for the way she touched our lives. Until we meet again, Rosita, we will carry your spirit in our hearts.

Thank you all for being here to bid farewell to a truly extraordinary woman.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; seven brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.
