Tribute

Theresa Marie Pomerleau DeIuliis, age 95, of Arlington, Virginia, passed on August 18, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.

Theresa was born on February 18, 1927, in Limerick, Maine, to William and Doris Pomerleau, Sr. She was the second oldest of eight children. Theresa grew up in Westbrook and Kennebunk, Maine, and graduated from Kennebunk High School. At the age of 18, she was recruited by the FBI and worked as a secretary in the Washington, D.C. office from 1945 - 1952. On September 2, 1950, Theresa married Luke DeIuliis. In 1957, Theresa, Luke, and their three daughters moved to Arlington, Virginia, where she lived for 65 years. Theresa was a member of St. Thomas More Cathedral parish and served as a Girl Scout Leader for many years.

Theresa was a devoted wife and mother, a talented homemaker who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She was famous for her cookies, especially during the Christmas holidays.  In her later years, she became an avid jigsaw puzzle maker and master of Sudoku.  When Luke retired, they enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their children and grandchildren. She loved playing board games, trips to a museum, or cooking a delicious meal with her grandchildren or great-grandchildren. Her family was her life.

Theresa faced many health challenges during the last years of her life. She was courageous as she fought through each one.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Walker and husband Richard, Lucille DeIuliis and husband Hal Arneson, Annette DeIuliis and husband Martin Rhodes; her grandchildren Ryan Walker, Luke Walker and wife Fern, Jesse Rhodes, Joel Rhodes; great-grandsons Dante Walker, Vincent Walker; and many nieces and nephews.
