Virginia "Gini" McGinnis Albert

Virginia McGinnis Albert, 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Arlington, VA on August 27, 2023. Gini was born to Ernest and Shirley McGinnis on April 4, 1950 in Defiance, Ohio. She attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio for three years and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Washington State. She married John Graham Albert on October 17, 1974, in San Francisco, CA, becoming a reluctant but supportive Air Force spouse. During their almost 49 years of marriage, Gini and John moved 11 times, lived in four countries, visited 23 countries, raised two daughters, and welcomed four grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Michele Lombardo, her brother Ernest McGinnis, her husband John, their daughters Abigail Frander, Marjorie Amodia, and their children: Alfonso, Genevieve, Audrey, and Josephine. All her grandchildren share Gini’s love of travel. She taught us all to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us everyday and in this way we continue to feel her love.
